Company History
The Young Family legacy and entrepreneurial spirit was born in the early 1900’s, set in motion by Joseph Young, who started a family butcher business in Celbridge, Co.Kildare, Ireland. His quality products, notable customer relations skills, good business practices and eye for opportunity, which were in turn employed by his sons, saw the business rapidly develop into one of the countries largest and most well known meat wholesale suppliers. Always pursuing and welcoming development, growth and improvement, the company went on to become an international affair and remains to this day one of Ireland’s principal meat suppliers and exporters, supplying many internationally known hotels and restaurants and holding transportation accounts with Ireland’s largest airline company Aer Lingus.
During the 1920’s, Michael Fanning, from the other side of the family, who had a passion for horses, set up a thoroughbred stud farm in Clane, Co.Kildare and bred exceptional bloodstock for many years. On his retirement, he passed on his business to his grandchildren, the Young family, who also shared his love for horses. They took over the running and management of the business, in yet another winning move that continues to make its mark in the Irish racing and breeding industry today.
In the 1980’s the Young family decided to open an amusement and arcades business and in addition to opening a string of many of Ireland’s most prominent arcades, they also developed, patented and began marketing a Universal Cabinet System, which revolutionized gaming distribution.
Real Estate Development
It was during the mid 70’s that the Youngs began to ride the wave of international real estate development. They set up a construction business, which employed elite tradesmen… satisfying their own need to continue providing eminent standards. With this insatiable code as the backbone of the company, the family construction business began to make a name for itself in New Zealand, where small quality residential projects and refurbishment works were under great demand.
Over the next 25 years, the Youngs developed their construction business into an extremely high quality real estate developer for a company of their size. Their services were under heavy demand in Ireland, particularly in upmarket areas of Dublin and Celbridge, where clients wanted built- to- suit, high quality, luxury homes. The Youngs provided all of this and more…adding the Home Owners Bond, ISO 9002 and 10 year structural guarantee to their long list of construction credits.
Leaders in the Construction Industry
They believed that their signature trademark of personal attention and attention to detail gave them the edge over many other larger competitors and it was this very edge that won them a remarkable contract in South Africa in 1999. Having been chosen by Durban local government from a long list of many internationally renowned building contractors, the Young family construction company undertook the building of Durban City Aquarium. This extensive project, aimed at considerably boosting tourism to the city, included many state of the art environmental systems. The uShaka Aquarium, one of the largest aquariums in the world, was completed in 2002 and set the Young’s name and reputation in stone as a company to impeccably deliver everything asked of them.
Real Estate Agency
Following this immense achievement, the Youngs decided to respond to the call for quality regulated construction in Spain. The market had been saturated by a rash of substandard operations spawned from the explosion in the real estate industry there.
In 2006 the family opened a full real estate agency in Puente Genil, Cordoba, offering regulated Irish standards of business and providing reliable and comprehensive real estate solutions in residential, commercial, industrial, land and project investment. In 2003, the company got to work on setting new standards in the construction industry in Spain and also began to find a strong market for its luxury homes as well as commercial investment opportunities. The Young family’s reputation continues to burn bright…and is now, as the family motto says “here for you today…here for you tomorrow.”
